Thalatta dive site in Zamboanguita is another favorite of the Dive Sites of DDC. Access is via the coast, crossing through a lush seagrass meadow where encounters with various species of nudibranchs are common. You'll reach an artificial reef composed of small patches of coral and remnants of several cars scattered across the sandy bottom, now covered in coral that shelters abundant marine life. Macro encounters are frequent here, including seahorses, ghost pipefish, painted frogfish, warted frogfish, the incredible harlequin shrimp, and many other wonderful species.
If you hold an Advanced Open Water certification or higher, you can explore the highlight of the dive: a large concrete structure resting at around 28 meters deep. Adorned with soft corals, it provides shelter to juvenile fish species that attract lionfish, scorpionfish, and brilliantly colored giant frogfish.
If you don't currently hold this certification but want to fully enjoy Thalatta dive site in Zamboanguita, check out our offers to obtain it with the support of the DDC team.
