Course Content:

Theory:

Learn the principles of sidemount diving, including history, equipment used, and advantages over traditional back-mounted configurations.

Confined Water Practices:

Perform exercises to familiarize yourself with sidemount setup, including cylinder placement, weighting management, and buoyancy control.

Open Water Practices:

Apply skills learned in confined waters to real dives, practicing advanced techniques like wreck or cave penetration using sidemount configuration.

Requirements:

- Certified PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification).

- Minimum age of 15 years (minimum age may vary by region).

- Completion of at least 6 previous dives.

Course Standards:

PADI Sidemount specialty course follows standards and procedures set by PADI to ensure safety and quality training.

Instructors certified by PADI for the Sidemount specialty must adhere to the course curriculum and meet teaching and evaluation requirements established by PADI.
