The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course is a training program designed to teach participants first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and emergency care skills in various situations.

Course Objectives:

The primary objective of the PADI Emergency First Response course is to train participants to provide immediate care in medical emergencies. This includes the ability to recognize and effectively respond to injuries, illnesses, and cardiac emergencies, as well as administer CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) if necessary.

Course Content:

Primary Care (CPR):

In this part of the course, participants learn to administer basic first aid and CPR to individuals experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory emergencies.

Secondary Care (First Aid):

Participants learn basic first-aid techniques to assess and manage injuries such as cuts, burns, fractures, and sprains. They also learn to assess and manage medical emergencies such as allergic reactions, shock, and seizures.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use:

Participants receive training on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to deliver electrical therapy to individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

Emergency Oxygen Use (optional):

Participants have the option to receive training on administering emergency oxygen to individuals experiencing breathing difficulties or suffering from decompression illness.

Teaching Methodology:

The course utilizes a combination of theoretical knowledge development, practical skill demonstrations, and hands-on practice sessions. Participants engage in instructor-led discussions, skills demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises to reinforce learning and competency in skills.

Certification:

Upon completing the course, participants receive a PADI Emergency First Response certification. This certification is valid for two years.

The course is open to anyone interested in learning essential first aid and emergency care skills, including divers, non-divers, and individuals working in environments where emergency response may be necessary.
